The great church of Hallgrimskirkja overlooks the city and offers a panoramic view from the top of its tower.

Artwork of the architect Gudjon Samuelsson it uses the main symbols of Iceland : the basaltic organs for the facade , and the glaciers for the back.

The long and thin white pillars doesn’t seem to support the nave and everything looks so light and so pure.

The old tanks previously used to store hot water for the city are now a museum, an exhibition hall and a restaurant on the roof, with a panoramic view.

The project was disputed first, but “The Pearl” is now one of the best known symbol of the city and a loved place for the inhabitants.
